Business Growth Research and Development

Bellwether seeks a full-time Business Growth Research   & Development to join our department in Public Affairs.
This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. or from the institute central office in Brooklyn, NY, and is available immediately. Frequent travel is required.
As a Institute, you will be an engine for business development across institute. You will have an encyclopedic knowledge of our current work, a thirst for understanding our market and landscape (present and future), and a strong bent for research and analysis. You'll work often in collaboration with Institute staff -- to identify and help prioritize the needs of prospective client institute districts, charter institute organizations, and state departments of education and propose services that align to strategic priorities. You'll move from conducting competitor and market analysis to preparing a pitch to meeting with district leadership, all in a day's work.
Conduct research and market analysis on potential clients, maintaining a keen awareness of the market and landscape. We are looking for amazing people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences, are inspired by our mission and are highly motivated to change children's lives through education. We're looking for talented people who learn from failure and overcome adversity, cultivate strong relationships, and push themselves, their work and the people around them to the next level.
Bellwether is a national non-profit that has remained   teaching. We believe great teaching is transformative and that teachers, more than any other factor in education, have the greatest impact on whether or not a student will succeed in Institute. We were founded by teachers and they are at the center of everything we do. Our mission is to end educational inequality by providing excellent teachers to students who need them most and by advancing policies and practices that ensure effective teaching happens in every classroom.
Our Bellwether institute Group works to ensure institute has the most effective and authoritative voice and impact in education today. Our   Business Growth Research &  Department in Public Affairs is responsible for ensuring institute meets its annual revenue goals; the department leads our growth and development strategy -- identifying and developing new client Consumer Engagement, reviewing current partnerships, and creating and maintaining the appropriate level of philanthropic investment in institute work. The Department also develops resources and marshals evidence to support client and funder investment in our work.
Institute offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance based bonus. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan and pay 100% of employee-only medical coverage and subsidize the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children. Other benefits include dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, flexible spending account options, generous vacation time, commuter benefits, referral bonuses, professional development, and a  plan with employer matching. We also offer an inclusive environment where staff are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work

We will not consider applications without a cover letter tailored to this position, which can be addressed to the Human Capital department. Please note that an offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of a background check. At Institute, we know that diversity makes us stronger and challenges us to think differently every day. We are an equal opportunity employer and seek individuals of all ethnic and racial backgrounds to apply to this position.
